The feast of fat things

When I woke up on Turkey Thursday, I didn't have to think for even one second about what I was grateful for. They were there waiting for me the second I opened my eyes.

Look at my hot man. The one in orange. He's mine, ladies, sorry.

Fast Forward a few hours. Jared McEwan cooks great meat. This turkey was INSANE, it was so good. Two seconds after I took this picture, Jared is going to set the turkey down, and a waterfall of turkey grease is going to pour off the counter onto the floor.

The kid's table. (Always more fun)

Oh YEAH. Yummerooney.

I know taking pics of the food seems silly, but you work so hard on it! This year, Suzy cooked it all, and it was amazing.

Ok, ok, one mor picture. But doesn't this food make you want to go scavenge in the fridge for those leftovers? And how about Suzy's 100 year old china paired with my turkey placemats? A match made in Fowl Heaven.

The first picture in the following series entitled
"THE CUTEST FREAKING BABY IN THE UNIVERSE"

These are Kyle's eyes when he is NOT wide eyed. You should see him when he's excited!
The only baby who makes you afraid his eyes are going to come after you and eat you.

Blurred Perfection

Uncle Jared was the cool dad/Uncle today. He helped the kids make gingerbread cookies after dinner.

Thanksgiving is ROCKIN' AWESOME!!!!

We went to the woods to hike deliberately

That's right folks, we love to hike. Growing up, Joe and I hiked a lot. For those in the know, "4 more miles" is a hilarious thing to yell at exhausted people. Anyway, we haven't been able to do it for a while, but 8 weeks ago we made yet another resolution. And when it comes to resolutions, Joe and I are mules. "My resolution is my bond" is our motto. So, our resolution is to hike every Saturday. Today, we set out to hike, and would have made it had it not been for the thousands of off -roaders buzzing around Calico, and of course, that pesky PMS. But, the point is we still spent an hour putting socks on three kids so we could go hiking, so despite turning around, we still count it. Below are some pics from our hike to Heart Rock. Weirdly enough, I did not take any pics of the heart rock! We are hiking with the Grandparents.

Look who had the best seat in the forest!

Kurt "helped" Grandma all down the path! What an amazing boy I have.

Three generations of hikers braving the wilderness.

Ok, just a random pic, but I love how everything is fuzzy but Kyle's face.

Looking down at the really cool, but unphotographed heart rock.

See you next Saturday, Mom!

Liam's Birthday Party

Since Melissa decided to write about Liam's b-day party on her blog, and posted some pics of me, I thought I would reciprocate, and post some pics of her!
Below is Melissa getting all those cute pics for her blog.

Here she is getting my chipmunk cheeks in full detail!

The man of the hour. Liam. SO FREAKING CUTE!!!!!!!

Couldn't decide which photo I liked better.

I got Liam mickey ears for his birthday, but wilLIAM (got that?) Liam's dad, was the sorcerer for most of the day.

They jumped out of a plane! Just kidding. We threw them up in the air! No, also kidding. We just sang to Liam.

The AWESOMErs.

Huh?

Just me and my boy!

Kurt is our tallest child. He will probably always be our tallest child. He has been tall enough to go on all of the Disneyland rides except for two, for almost two years. Always, when we get off a "big kid" ride, he asks to go again. Since we always have his shorter siblings with us, we have to say no. A couple of weeks ago, I decided that Kurt had been a patient child long enough. Off we went to Disneyland, together, to ride all the big kid rides as many times as he wanted! Since it was not very crowded that day, we got on everything with nary a wait. By the end of the day I was fully seasick. Following is the the list of the rides we went on and how many times. I bet any of you would have puked too. At the end of the day, Kurt was of course, begging for more. But shouldn't we all have a day in our childhood where we can go on Splash Mountain 7 times?
Here it is.
Splash Mountain (3 times in a row)
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Space Mountain (Front row! Extra motion)
Star Tours
Autopia (twice in a row)
Finding Nemo
Buzz Lightyear
Grizzly River Run (2 soaked, shivering times in a row)
Mullholland Madness (3 times in a row)
Jumping Jellyfish
Autopia again
Matterhorn
Splash Mountain (4 more times in a row)
Now I dare you all to present me with someone who would not also have been horribly sick at the end of the day. It was fun though. Here are some pics.

My beautiful Boy

Kurt's trademark toothless grin-adorable, isn't he?

Dang mom, this tree is huge!

Christmas! Hooray!

Look how sweet Kurt looks as he gets on the Winnie the Pooh Ride, which we affectionately call...

...Winnie the Pooh on crack. And no, despite all appearances, Kurt is NOT on crack.

Run out of mula at Disneyland? I know where to get some....

We also did the Jedi Training Academy, and Kurt got picked! He looked adorable.

Going to fight Darth Vader!!!

Keeping the universe a little safer

OFFICIALLY a jedi. All day long, Kurt would say in an awed voice, "Mom, I can't believe I am am a jedi now." But Joe and I always knew Kurt was a jedi, he can manipulate the heck out of us with his "jedi mind powers"

Ok, eventually even Kurt collapsed and took a nap. While waiting, I went to see some "upcoming" changes at Disney's California Adventure, and I discovered, they are de-Californing the park!!!! Below is one of the many changes they are making to the current California decoration! Below are some signs, one is of the new land opening up in 2012, CARS land, and the other is the projected view of DCA then. See if you can spot all the ABSENT California attractions!

Holy Moly, this is the literal face of an angel.

Heavily trimmed, this is why I usually do not have other people take my pic. Let's just say that before cropping, there was a LOT of photo on the left. But, ending the day with Mickey? It almost wiped the impending barf right off my face! Almost.
